Spirit Airlines offers service from CAK to Florida beginning November – The Florida-based Spirit Airlines will offer daily service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando beginning Nov. 10. Seasonal service to Tampa (offered three days per week) and Fort Myers (available four days per week) also begins in November. In April 2017, Spirit will offer seasonal daily flights to Myrtle Beach. Rick McQueen, Akron-Canton's president and chief executive officer, expects travelers who had grown used to low-cost Florida flights from AirTran, which merged with Southwest, will be interested in Spirit's destinations. Marathon expects Cornerstone Pipeline to be done this year – Construction of Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Cornerstone Pipeline is going as planned and should be completed before the end of the year. Franklin University and Stark State College provide students with affordable, accessible bachelor’s degrees – Franklin University and Stark State College will formalize an agreement to provide accounting and business administration bachelor’s degrees through a new 3+1 partnership. The partnership enables students to earn bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business administration by completing three years of Stark State coursework and one year of Franklin coursework.
