Telemarketer Ameridial to Bring 170 Jobs to Canton – Telemarketer Ameridial plans to bring 170 new jobs to the Canton area. Canton’s Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) approved a $100,000, no interest, 5-year loan that will be used to open a location on 30th Street, NW. The anticipated first year’s payroll at the Canton location will be $3.4 million. Ameridial is a global provider of contact services, direct mail, and business processing outsourcing services. Ameridial handles over 100 million calls per year and has been ranked as a “Top 50 Services Provider” by Customers Interactions Solutions Magazine. In a related development, the State of Ohio has awarded Ameridial a 35 percent job creation tax credit for a five-year term as a result of the company’s planned project hiring in Canton and Jackson Township. The value of the tax credit is estimated at $109,765 over the term, and Ameridial would be required to maintain operations at the project sites for eight years. MISCOR Moving Indiana Headquarters to Massillon, Ohio – Last week, MISCOR Group Ltd. announced the planned relocation of its headquarters from South Bend, Indiana to Massillon, Ohio. Massillon is the present location of its industrial services segment Magnetech Industrial Services, Inc. In January, representatives of the Stark Development Board, the Massillon Chamber, and the City of Massillon met with the company to discuss its possible move to Massillon. The team will be working with MISCOR during this transition period. MISCOR also announced the sale of its Martell Electric, LLC and Ideal Consolidated, Inc. business units. Upon completion of the restructuring plan, MISCOR’s remaining subsidiaries will be aligned with the Company’s refocused business strategy, which includes an emphasis on maintenance, repair, remanufacturing and manufacturing of mechanical and electrical equipment for customers in the industrial and utility industries. Magnetech Industrial Services, Inc. does business as 3-D Service in Massillon. The headquarters move will mean the addition of approximately 14 associates at the Massillon location. College Board Honors Stark County’s Dual Credit Program – Stark County’s high school-based dual credit program was recognized as one of three exceptional college success initiatives in the Midwest region (13 states) by the College Board. Seventeen school districts and six partner colleges and universities are part of the program. Dual credit courses, which served over 1,200 students last year, enable high school students to earn both college and high school credit for the same course. Enrollment this year across all 17 of Stark’s school districts has surpassed 2,350. This is the first year the College Board has extended such recognition through its new “College Keys Compact Innovation Awards.” The award comes with a $5,000 prize for the Stark Education Partnership to continue evaluation of the program.
